Feature Friday

Today's Feature Friday is...

Drum Roll Please

Here is a little about Harmony Song:  It's a blog to definetly check out.

Hey readers!
Jes asked me if I wanted to be featured on her blog, and who doesn't want that? Although, I have to admit, I feel a little pressured (by myself) to come up with some witty, hysterical paragraph about myself that will make you instantly love me and "follow" my blog. I mean, blogging is all about how many people follow you, right? Nah, I'm just kidding. I think. Back to the topic at hand....me and my blog. I really have no rhyme or reason to what I post. I will often think up a topic and just start writing. My blog is an outlet for my creativity, and please know I use the word "creativity" loosely. It's all relative....at least that is what I tell myself.

I am soon to be 25 and attend grad school full-time. My masters will be in Human Service/Health and Wellness. Believe me, I have to stop and think about my degree every time I am asked. No one ever really knows what Human Service is, so I have started saying it's a mix between psychology, sociology, social work, and business. I would love to work in a hospital one day. Although, I don't do human blood. I may have to rethink this goal...moving right along...when I am not doing ridiculous amounts of school work, I am tutoring jr. high students, nannying, and working with my brother who has multiple disabilities.

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me! Happy Friday!! Time for me to go party by writing a paper.....

Don't forget to stop by Harmony Song!

It's a Party

Check out this Blog Party with one of my Feature Friday Blogs.

If you could only use one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
One Word.. Busy
Always busy no matter what it may be.
This week however I've been LAZY.
Enjoying my vacation time.

If you could have dinner with any person (past or present) who would it be?
I would love to have dinner with my Mom's Grandmother.
She passed away a few days after I was born, and is someone I've always wanted to meet.
You found a machine that allows you to fast forward your life to a moment or to rewind your life to a certain moment, but it can only be used for one moment.  Would you fast forward or rewind and to which moment would you choose?
I would have to say that I would fast forward to a moment in the future.
The moment... Hmm.. Maybe my wedding day or the day I have children.

What is your favorite simple blessing in life?
I would have to say my favorite simple blessing would be the time that I spend with my family since we are far away most of the time. Don't forget to stop by Amy's blog - Filled with Praise, and join the Party.

Feature Friday with a Guest Post

Angie from The Country Chic Cottage is my Feature Friday.

Hello all!!  I am Angie from The Country Chic Cottage.  Y'all stop by for a visit sometime!  I am so happy to be here!  Jessica wanted to feature my sheet music letter...it is one of my faves...
All you need is cardboard, sheet music, glue, and a little ink to distress the sides.  Yep that cardboard can be anything from an amazon box to your empty Cheerios box.
I cut out four pieces of my "H".  Yep that H template was just printed off of the computer and I cut the cardboard with a pair of scissors.
I then stacked up those "H"s and used a spray adhesive to make one thicker "H".  I felt like one piece of cardboard by itself would not be strong enough.  And I used the spray adhesive cause I am not a patient person.  You could use your white glue for this also, just let it dry a little while before continuing.
I ripped my sheet music into pieces using a straight edge.  That way I would get a frayed look on the edge.  Then just start gluing.  I began by making sure all edges were covered.  Then I made sure all the cardboard on "front" was covered.  Paint each piece down really well with white glue.  You can use it on the front and back of the sheet music (it drys clear).
I then went back and added smaller pieces of sheet music to make it pretty!  I placed all of my sheet music so that the print was right side up -- I guess you could do it randomly I am just detail oriented...
Again with my detail oriented self, I also covered the cardboard on back.  Then you have to let it dry...sigh...the long wait.  I would say 8 hours or so just to be safe.  And then distress those edges with a little brown ink if you like that look (I do!).
And there you have it -- a thrifty "use what you have" project!
Stop by the cottage anytime to see more projects and tutorials...and sometimes me rambling...  Thanks Jessica for having me!

Feature Friday

Welcome to Feature Friday!

This week's Feature Friday is....

(Drum Roll Please)

Kitchen Belleicious is one of my favorite blogs especially if I am looking for something new and tasty.  Ms. Belleicious is alway serving up some tasty recipes that I can not wait to try when I am not so busy. (Ah when break, hits I'll be printing out quite a few.)  She serves up a variety of tasty dishes whether it is breakfast foods or a tasty desert for all to share.

I asked Ms. Belleicious to write a little about her blog so here it goes:

I am not really sure how to sum up the life of Ms. Belleicious! LOL! It’s not that I am that exciting, I am just crazy! Ha! Only kidding! Okay, let’s start from the beginning. I am  proud to be raised southern from a small town in Louisiana. My husband has to be the most sweetest and loving man I know! He is my rock and supports me in everything I do. Whether it is cooking or playing tennis or something silly, he has and always will be there for me. I met him 5 years ago at LSU and I have had the time of my life since then sharing each day and moment with my soul mate. I know everyone says their husband is the best but this man truly is my dream and he makes me smile everyday. My husband has given me one of the best gifts and that is our son. He just turned 1 and he is my life. I never knew I could feel this type of love until now. Everyday I strive to be the best mom I can be, to raise him to love others and to be kind.

Kitchen Belleicious is my new baby! It is a project I started back in January from a huge push, or rather shove, from my family and friends. Cooking is my passion ,my obsession. I took a leap of faith doing this website because I have never considered myself a writer but I am so glad I have-otherwise I would have never had the chance to meet so many wonderful women. I love to make new things, try something I have no idea how to make and just put a smile on people’s faces watching them eat something they love. My goal with Kitchen Belleicious is to help other women like myself find out tricks of the trade, new flavors and seasonings and methods you never knew existed and most importantly, I hope Kitchen Belleicious gives someone that extra push to make a new dish and the confidence in your own cooking abilities. Be fearless in the kitchen is my motto. Anyone can cook, you just got to get in there and do it, believing in yourself. We all make mistakes. Believe me not everything Ms. Belleicious cooks turns out perfect but the point is to try! It isn’t just about cooking to have something to eat. It is about the creativity and the love that goes into creating something for others to enjoy.

Please stop by Kitchen Belleicious!
She is alway cooking up something new!

Feature Friday

Welcome to Feature Friday!

This week's Feature Friday blog is...

MMTAS

Malory has been a friend of mine for a very long time.  When I was living in Mississippi, we were pretty much inseparable.  We spent our Friday and Saturday nights going to the movies, target and hitting book stores.  We also taught Sunday school for a little over 2 years together, and have been friends for over 10 years.  She is just a genuine in her blog as she is in person, and as sweet too.

I asked Malory to write a little glimpse into her blog...

First, I want to thank Jes for featuring me today.  It is truly an honor.  I am one of her biggest fans ;-)  She's asked me to share a little bit about my blog.  So, here I go...

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." (1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV)

Hi! I'm Malory. I'm the writer behind Mal Mal's Thoughts and Such. I am a 26 year old, single, Christian gal who lives in South Mississippi. I am your typical oldest child who loves her family and friends, but more importantly, her Savior. I started my blog as a place to collect all of the things that make up my life...my faith, family, friends, Scripture, journaling, devotions, prayer, songs, books, etc. It's a place where I write down my thoughts and such. I didn't want my blog to be just any blog, but a place where people could come and be encouraged. I like to think of it as a place where we could meet up, grab a cup of coffee, chit-chat, laugh, share a bit of wisdom or two. My life, all of it's ups and downs, is really where I gather most of my ideas. I also have plenty to work with when it comes to my family and friends (don't they always make the best topics for a post?). Please, join me on this crazy, wonderful, exciting, hilarious (at times), God-given journey that I call life.

Please take the time to stop by Malory's blog, and let her know I sent you.

Feature Friday

Quick Reminder: Have you entered my SUMMER READING GIVEAWAY?
Check it out HERE.

Welcome to Feature Friday!
Thanks for joining me.

The blog I am featuring today is....

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....

One Mom's Perfect Imperfections is one of my favorite blogs to look at daily.  Courtney and I have become such great friends, and I truly value our friendship.  She is an Amazing Christian Mother to 2 beautiful children and along with all of her hobbies.. She is one busy momma.  Courtney is always sharing about her sewing, quilting, and scrapbooking projects, along with her tasty recipes, and photography skills.

I would have to say two of my favorite post are these... I couldn't just pick one...

Here is a little glimpse into One Mom's Perfect Imperfections:

Hi! I'm Courtney, the author of One Mom's Perfect Imperfections. I am a 30 something, Christian woman originally from Kentucky but now residing in Memphis, TN.  I have been married to Prince Charming for 7 1/2 years now and am still madly in love.  I consider myself somewhat witty and a bit of a sap when the mood strikes - a sentimental fool,if you will.  I am ridiculously a tad obsessed with Elvis Presley and have been since the tender age of 4.  A lover of history, a sucker for anything handmade, and an avid coffee drinker.  A stay at home mom of two wonderful children, I have taken motherhood very seriously and realize I don't make time to do the things I love to do or would like to learn. My hodgepodge of hobbies as well as the accumulating noise in my head from motherhood inspire the ideas for my blog. I am an amateur at everything and don't expect my creativity to be perfect, just fun. I hope you'll come learn more about my perfect imperfections.

Please stop by Courtney's Blog.

Feature Friday

Welcome to Feature Friday!

This week's Feature Friday blog is...

(Drum Roll Please..)

Mrs. Random over at Mrs. Random's Ramblings.

I have gotten to know Mrs. Random quite well, and I've fallen in love with her blog.  She shares with us her thoughts and feelings while being completely open with us.  I find that to be truly inspiring, because it is something I struggle with.  I know she calls those thoughts and feelings rambles.. but I love those rambles, because I can always relate.

Mrs. Random wrote a little glimpse into her blog...

I  am thirty-something year old, single woman that has a lot on her heart and mind.  I want to live a life that is glorifying to the Lord, but I am beginning to realize it is okay to struggle. I decided to create a blog under a pseudonym in hopes of sharing my true thoughts and feelings without fear of offending or being judged too harshly. A few things you will discover about me: I am a Christian woman that struggles in her walk with the Lord from time to time, I love my family more than anything else on this Earth but we aren't perfect and we don't always get along, I don't have the gift of discernment, I can be a hypocrite occasionally, I do believe in SOME censorship, and I ramble! I hope you will come visit me!

Please take the time to stop by Mrs. Random's blog, and let her know I sent you.
Thanks for stopping by.

I'm also participating in Graceful Bear's Free Friday...
Please stop by her blog and join us..

Feature Friday

Welcome to Feature Friday!

This week's Feature Friday blog is...

Lindsey over at "A Dollop of My Life."  I absolutely adore her blog, and love the honestly and openness she shares with her readers.  Despite what she is going through in her adventures of motherhood, she always finds the positive in life.

Lindsey also recently started a blog design business called Designs by Linds. I worked with Lindsey on my new blog (Design Diva with Interior Motives - launching June 1st). Lindsey was AMAZING to work with and an absolute joy.  Her blog designs are very fun, and affordable.

I asked Lindsey to introduce herself and give a glimpse into her blog...

My name is Lindsey, known around the blogging world as "Linds," and I started A Dollop of My Life in 2007 as a simple online journal. As my life has changed through deployments (my husband served in the Army National Guard and was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom), struggling with possible infertility and then finding out we were pregnant, to raising my baby boy, my blog has grown with me on my journey. I try to keep an honest view of everything that my life entails-- dirty diapers, dirty dishes and loads of laundry piled on the couch.... because if we're all honest our lives are far from perfect. I also am a hobbyist photographer, so those who read my blog have to deal with countless pictures of my family, especially my 1 year old little boy. When I am not hanging out with my fam, blogging or taking pictures, I also like to fill my "free" time with blog design. After designing my own blog and figuring out things as I go, I recently started my own little design site and offer fun, affordable blog design packages. Blog design is just another way I keep my mind sharp as a stay at home mom, and it gives me a little extra cash to spend on... you guessed it... my baby boy :o)

I hope that you will take the time and stop by Lindsey's blog

First Feature Friday

Quick Reminder: "Around Your Town Tuesday" is this Tuesday the 20th.  The topic this week is Parks.  I have sent out an email reminder to all that I could find emails for.  If you would like a reminder every other week, please email me or leave a comment with your email address.  Thanks so much!

Now on with the show....

Welcome to Feature Friday!
Thanks for joining me on the 1st Feature Friday!

What is Feature Friday all about?

Feature Friday is a way to expose you to new blogs.  I hope that you will stop by and give them a visit.  The blogs chosen could be chosen for a variety of reasons.  Some of them inspire, motivate, and encourage me while others give me a good laugh.

The blog I am introducing you too today does all of the above.

Filled with Praise is a constant reminder for me at the wonderful things God does, and that when we live in HIS will amazing things occur.  This blog has uplifted me many times, and Amy always has something uplifting and encouraging to say.  I have truly enjoyed watching her ministry grow.  One of my favorite series of post are the letters Amy writes to Elijah.  Her first post can be found here.. "Dear Elijah..."

I asked Amy to write a little glimpse into her blog so here it is...

I am so appreciative of Jes for spotlighting my blog this week.  I truly enjoy reading her blog and following her on her adventures in Savannah.  She has asked that I share with you a little information about my blog, so here it goes…

I started my blog, Filled With Praise, last June as a way of praising God in all situations and showcasing the good in others.  However, not long after starting my blog, God placed an undeniable call on my husband and I to adopt from Ethiopia.  At the time, it did not make sense because we had just welcomed our third child only seven months prior to the calling.  We prayed and sought His will over the adoption He had placed heavily on our hearts.  Then we took the dive.  It was a dive of complete faith and following of His will in our lives.

Since taking that leap of faith we have been blessed beyond belief through this journey in ways that we never imagined. We are currently number seven on the waiting list to see our little son’s face and although there have been challenges and trying times, we have tried to sing His praise the entire time.  Because faith is not just about praising Him during the easy times, it is about praising Him and following Him at all times.  So, my blog that started as a devotional style blog has become a fun mix of silly quotes from my five year old son, family moments, devotions, inspirational stories of others, giveaways, crafts and our views from this beautiful journey of adoption.

I hope you will take a moment and stop by my blog and introduce yourself.  I would love to “meet” you and check out your blogs as well.  Wishing each of you a day filled with praise.

Blessings,
Amy

I hope that you will take the time to stop by Filled with Praise.  It is truly a wonderful blog.
