Getting Crafty

Over Spring Break,
We went to Hobby Lobby;  The closest store is about 1 hr. from Savannah, GA.
This was also on our Savannah Adventures List.

Back in High School, I worked here for over 2 years. Not this one inparticular, but a Hobby Lobby none the less.  Even today it is one of my favorite stores to go to, and trust me it even beats Michaels and A.C. Moore.

Have you ever been?
If so, what's your favorite part?

Shop Til Ya Drop...

Yesterday, Ashlee, my Mom, and I headed over to Hilton Head, South Carolina for some shopping.  We arrived in Hilton Head around 10 a.m., and started out at The Shelter Cove Mall in Hilton Head.

Ashlee found her dress at one of our first stops (J. Crew.)

Ashlee working the runway....

(Gotta love the Pepto Pink Walls YUCK!)

We then went to the Tanger Outlets 2, and shopped some more!

We left Hilton Head, SC around 3:30 p.m. and headed back home.  We stopped by Fatz Cafe and ate dinner;  we had delicious salads.
While eating dinner, my Mom and Ashlee joked about going to Savannah Mall.
I was all for it, and told them that I was refueled for the night!
We got to the mall around 6:15 p.m ,and we shopped till they closed the doors.

I found my dress at Macy's.
Yes, I know.. It's BLACK AND WHITE, but that's just ME!

When leaving the mall, we stopped by Nine West and found these fabulous shoes....

When a Country Girl goes to Town....

We went to Charleston, South Carolina, to complete something off of our Savannah Adventure's List.  That blog post can be found HERE.

Charleston, SC: Pictures around Town

Ashlee and I

My Mom and Ashlee

Ashlee and her Broken Sunglasses!

The funniest part of this story happened before we headed home... We walked around Charleston for about 4 1/2 hours, and we thought that it was time to head home since the storm clouds were rolling in.

We then went in search of our car... which we could not find!
We searched an entire parking garage, and my mom walked up and down it... And still no car!
I mean how many Parking Garages are in Charleston?!?
There couldn't be that many or could there?

We knew we parked on East Bay Street, but there was more than one parking garage.
After much debate between the 3 or us, we headed in the opposite direction, and we found our car.
We had a wonderful day, and laughed at our funny afternoon.

So this is what happens when a COUNTRY GIRL GOES TO TOWN.

And the Adventure Begins...

It's official... I'm graduating!

I've lived in Savannah for a little over 2 years. During these 2 years, I've tried to take advantage of everything the city has to offer. I've done trolley tours, tourist days, and even ate at some of my favorite places. However, as the time here in Savannah dwindles I realize that I want to experience a few more things that this lovely city has to offer. So for the next 27 weeks, (Total Weeks Left in Savannah), I hope you join me on my journey. Accompanying me on this journey is the lovely best bud, Ashlee, I've asked her to join me. She happily agreed. We have made a list, and hope to accomplish all before our time here is gone.

The List:
- Have a Spa Day in Savannah (Budget Hopefully Allows)
- Go to the Farmer's Market
- Eat @ Uncle Bubba's (Paula Deen's Brother's Restaurant)
- Hilton Head, SC Shopping Day
- Hilton Head, SC Beach Day
- Charleston Day Trip
- City Market Day
- Picnic in Forsyth Park
- Attend a Movie in the park
- Make a regular beach or pool day
- Breakfast at J. Christophers (Our Favorite Breakfast Place)
- Eat @ Soho
- Eat @ Firefly
- Eat @ Breakfast Club
- Trip to Mary Kay's House and Seaside Sister's Day
- Visit the Lighthouse and watch a sunset on beach
- Eat @ Mrs. Wilkes
- Eat @ McDonagh's Pub
- Eat @ Griffen Tea Room
- Have cupcakes @ Back in the Day Bakery
- Go on a Ghost Tour
- Visit the NEW Forsyth Visitor Center
- Picnic at the Beach
- Have cupcakes @ Cupcake Emporium
- River Street Day
- Take Ashlee to Hobby Lobby
- Hmm.. and much more!

I find humor in this list now that I'm looking at it again. Most of our adventure's are centered around FOOD or are about FOOD. Well... A girl's gotta EAT. So we will eat you through Savannah.

I will update you on our adventures when we accomplish one. Some of these we have accomplished before either together or separately, but we want to accomplish these together again.. So stay tuned.... Till Next Time....Have a Great Week!

Savannah Adventures...

This weekend has been a busy one, but with lots of things accomplished and fun along the way. I started the weekend off by trying a new dish, that I've never cooked before. (Later Recipe Post) It was quite delicious.

On Saturday, I spent the day looking at a computer screen working on the construction documents for my Studio 3 project. Ashlee and I spent about 10 hours there minus our dinner time.
For dinner we went to.... Vinnie Van Go Go's
Next time you visit Savannah, Eating at Vinnie's is a MUST! The crust is to die for, but ONE PIECE is about all I can eat. (Plus it's really cheap.) The reason I can only eat one piece is because the pizza doesn't even fit on the plate.

This isn't my pizza, but the pieces are literally THIS BIG.
Now you understand why you can only eat one piece.....
They have all sorts of toppings from:
Pepperoni, Jalapenos, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Fresh Mushrooms, Spinach, Artichoke, Green Olives, Tomatoes, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Feta, Ham, Salami, Onions, Pineapple, Spicy Italian Sausage, Hamburger, Garlic, Extra Cheese....
Wow.. That is a lot of toppings RIGHT?
I had pepperoni, ham, and spicy italian sausage on mine and it was delicious! The only CON to this place is that it is so small, and if you aren't there early than you may be waiting a while.
There is outdoor seating though...

After, leaving Vinnie's we walked through City Market for a few minutes until we smelled the aroma from Savannah Candy Kitchen. The aroma filled into the streets and pulled us in.. Like Literally...
P.S. You can't walk out of there without anything...

So we walked out of there with Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate Gophers..
YUMMY!
This weekend was concluded by picking out FINAL MATERIAL SELECTIONS for our Studio Project.

This was our starting point, but we have narrowed it down, and added more vibrant colors to represent our company.
Leaving you with a picture of Aiden...

Hope you have a GREAT WEEK!

Words of Wisdom from a Tourist in her Own Town....

So when your a tourist in your own town.. You would think that you would wear the appropriate shoes for the trip. So I wore these shoes pictured below. Usually, they are really comfortable, but after walking so much I would definetly consider different ones.

After walking over 4 miles around downtown which I calculated using MyWalk. Next time, I will definetly considering wearing a pair of these even if it doesn't look appealing with the outfit of choice... Your feet will suffer for a couple of days if you wear floppy sandles like I chose to do.
P.S. If your going to be a tourist in Savannah EVER.. A pair of tennis shoes will be your best friend! (Due to the walking that is!)

Tourist In My Own Town..

Well I'm quite exhausted after being a tourist (somewhat) in my own town. Today I made plans to go downtown with one of my best friends Ashlee and her sister Amanda. The only problem about being TRUE tourist was that we didn't have the maps nor did we take a trolley tour, but we did enjoy the beautiful scenery of downtown Savannah.
Upon Amanda's request, we went to Forsyth Park. Forsyth Park is the largest and most active park in the city; the large park is 20 acres and has been around over a 150 year period. We walked through the middle of the park and upon entering is this beautiful fountain.

This fountain has also appeared in several movies including "Forest Gump" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." I would have to say "Forest Gump" is an all time favorite of mine!

P.S. This is also Amanda's Dream Wedding Spot!

After walking through the park and admiring the old homes, we walked to Gap to make sure that they weren't having any great deals! Surprisingly, No one bought anything! Then we walked to one of my all time favorite places to eat with some friends of Ashlee's visiting from Ashville, NC.

Great Food whether going for Breakfast or Lunch! Be prepared to wait though; although today, we got extremely lucky and just walked right in! We were informed by the waiter that it had been a slow day, which isn't normal for them!

OF COURSE, I got my favorite BREAKFAST ITEM THERE....

BLUEBERRY CRUNCH-CAKES
All I have to say is I ate half of them... And before we left, they were devoured.
Now recalling the events at Lunch.. I'm not sure anyone had much left, and there were no complaints about the food! Because it was quite fantastic!

After chatting and relaxing for quite sometime, we met another friend, Brittany at Banana Republic. She was having herself a "Shopping Therapy Day!" Sure wish I could afford one, but now that I think about it.. I don't really need much!

We then headed down Broughton Street to hit Starbucks, because we all needed to refuel before anymore walking...

Yummy!

We also took a few photos @ Starbucks while relaxing and chatting.

Amanda and I posing for a picture!

Britt didn't think it was a good day for pictures..
Maybe Next Time!

Ashlee and I!
Our first picture together, and we've been friends for almost a year now!

After Starbucks, we were all exhausted and decided it was time to head home. Only my day didn't stop there! I got the grand idea of going to Target, which I tried talking myself out of... Oh WHY NOT?!

I only shopped CLEARANCE and I totally enjoyed my little finds!

So.. I bought a Lemonade Candle, which totally makes me think of Summer!
It smells delicious!
$4 dollars

Summer Pitcher
Been looking at them all summer!
Now I have one...
$6 dollars

The other item I bought was my nephew a toy car that you shake and it takes off, which I got for under $3 dollars! I was over joyed with my 3 little finds.

I then came home to relax and got a few pictures of my little dog Aiden.. Thought I'd share..

Little Aiden

Make sure to take the time to stop and enjoy the scenery around your town; It makes you appreciate what a beautiful place you live! Have a GREAT rest of the week!
